2. The industry's technological level has been improving on a daily basis.
To satisfy the needs of pollution prevention and the protection of the
ecologic environment, efforts in developing new technologies and the
promotion of technologies has been intensified. As a result, new
technologies, techniques and products are emerging one after another,
covering most areas on treating pollution and environmental protection.
One-fifth of the equipment has moved up to the international standard of
the 1980s, some ranking first around the world. As for sewage treatment
in big cities and generating electricity by burning rubbish, China is now
capable of independent design and manufacturing key equipment. The
technology for treating industry water waste and eliminating smoke and
dust have met contemporary world standards. As for the comprehensive
utilization of resources, the technology for using industry waste residue
has achieved the leading international standard.
3. The industry's scope is expanding and environmental services have
developed very rapidly.
Twenty years ago, the routine equipment for treating industry sewage,
eliminating dust and basic monitoring and analysis instruments were
limited, both in supply and variety. At present, there are over 3,000
varieties of equipment. Facilities for treating urban sewage and rubbish
burning, auto emissions and treating a high concentration of organic
industry water waste, including other leading materials for environmental
protection have developed rapidly in recent years.
In terms of the comprehensive utilization of resources, almost all
industry waste has been incorporated. The utilization approaches for
trash have been expanded and varieties of production are increasing
consistently. For example, there are more than 200 kinds of product
manufactured with coal ash powder.
The environment services field has also been consistently expanded and
developed from former technologies and consultancies into the areas of
project contracting, management services for specialized equipment, fund
raising and financial risk assessment. In the past two years, a large
number of specialized enterprises have had great success in meeting the
requirements of the market economy and running their businesses according
to its rules. They have accelerated steps to treat pollution and promoted
the level of environmental services in China.
