A girl was appreciating an artwork named "Cai Yun Heng Tong" (the road to
wealth is wide open) at a shopping mall on Dec. 13. The artwork depicts a
sturdy gold "dog" holding a pure silver commemorative badge imprinted
with the Chinese character "Fu" (blessing) in its mouth, signifying that
it will bring fortune to one's family, protect their wealth, and receive
auspiciousness and blessings. As the Year of the Dog in Chinese calendar
approaches, various gold "dog" artworks are popular with consumers.
