China's peacekeeping troop to Sudan

China held a ceremony in Shandong's Laiyang in the morning of Sept. 8th
for establishment of the peacekeeping troop to be stationed in Sudan. The
troop consists of 435 members, including 275 engineer staff, 100
transportation staff and 60 medical care staff. They will be mainly
responsible for road, bridge and airport construction, water and electric
power supply maintenance, passenger and cargo transportation, medical
treatment of the injured and sick, sanitation and epidemic prevention in
assigned area by the United Nations. An advance party of the troop will
fly to Sudan for peacekeeping mission in Oct.
